Interviews
What documents should I bring to my USCIS interview?
Regardless of which type of interview you have, a few things apply universally:
- The interview notice itself
- A valid, unexpired passport or government ID
- Your green card, if you have one
- Original versions of any document you submitted as a copy — officers often want to see the original in person even with a copy already on file
- Any documents specifically listed on your interview notice
For marriage-based interviews specifically, bring updated evidence of a shared life beyond what you originally filed — recent photos together, current joint financial statements, and anything showing the relationship has continued. For naturalization, bring your green card and be ready for the civics and English test. When in doubt, bringing more organized documentation than you think you need is safer than bringing less.
This is general information, not legal advice. For anything specific or unusual about your case, a licensed immigration attorney can advise on your situation directly.
