USCISCaseStatus.com is operated by Breeze of Joy Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Fullerton, California (EIN 86-3212923). This policy explains how we handle information for anyone using the Service.
See also our EU/EEA Privacy Notice for GDPR-specific rights.
What Information We Collect
We collect information you give us directly. This includes your name, email address, and the receipt or case numbers you choose to track. We also collect basic usage data, like which pages you visit. This helps us keep the service running well. We do not collect your location, financial account details, medical records, or your contacts. We have no plans to collect these things.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to run the case tracking service. We check your case status with USCIS or NVC when allowed. We send you status-change alerts. We answer your questions. We also use your data to stop fraud and abuse. We may share overall statistics, like how many cases we track. These statistics do not identify you.
Information We Share
We never sell your personal information or case data. We do not sell it for money or anything else. We share information only with the few companies that help us run this site. Right now, that means our web host and our email service. They only use your data to provide that service to us. They must keep your data private, just like we do. No other company may use your data for any other reason without your clear consent.
Your Case Data Is Private
Cases you track stay private to your account. We never show them publicly. Search engines cannot find them. Other users cannot see them. The only exceptions: you can choose to share a case with someone using our share feature, or you can post about it, without personal details, in our Community.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your account and case data as long as your account stays active. If you do not use your account for 3 years in a row, we may email you a warning first. If we do not hear back, we may then delete the dormant account and its data. You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see "Deleting Your Data" below.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete a tracked case anytime from your dashboard. To delete your whole account, email us at casestatusu@gmail.com. We will finish the deletion within 30 days. We will email you once it is done. This applies to everyone, no matter where you live. California residents have extra rights listed below.
Closing Your Account
You can stop using the service anytime — just stop logging in. We will not email you unless you asked for case-status alerts. If you want your account fully deleted, not just unused, follow the deletion steps above.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you live in California, you have extra rights. You can ask what personal information we have about you. You can ask us to delete it. We will not treat you unfairly for asking. We never sell personal information, so there is no sale to opt out of. To use these rights, email casestatusu@gmail.com.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. Cookies also help us understand how people use the site. You can turn off cookies in your browser. Some features may not work as well if you do.
Data Security
We use strong security steps to protect your data, including encrypted connections and secure password storage. No system is ever fully secure. Please use a strong, unique password for your account.
If There Is a Data Breach
If we find a security breach that affects your data, we will email you quickly. We will tell you what happened and what data was involved. We will give you clear steps to protect yourself.
Your Rights
You can view, update, or delete your account and cases anytime through your account. To delete everything, email casestatusu@gmail.com.
If Ownership of This Service Changes
If this site is ever sold, transferred, or shut down, we will email registered users first. Any new owner must keep the privacy promises in this policy for data we already have. Or, we will let you export or delete your data before any change happens.
Children's Privacy
This service is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If we make a big change to this policy, we will email you first and explain what changed in plain language. You must actively confirm you saw it before the change applies to you. Small clarifications that do not change your rights may just get a new date at the top.
