How long it takes for Fiancé visa to get approved from the day I got the notification of receipt??
Where do you live?
The timeline varies depending on USCIS workload and the U.S. embassy handling the case. After receiving the I-129F receipt notice (NOA1), many fiancé (K-1) visa petitions currently take about 6–12 months for USCIS approval, though some are approved sooner and others take longer. After USCIS approval, the case is sent to the National Visa Center (NVC) and then to the U.S. embassy for the interview, which can add another 1–4 months depending on the embassy’s processing times. Overall, many applicants complete the process in approximately 8–16 months from the receipt notice to visa issuance.
There isn’t a fixed processing time. Once you receive your USCIS receipt notice (NOA1), your case enters the processing queue. Approval can take anywhere from several months to over a year, depending on USCIS workload and your service center. After USCIS approves the petition, the case still goes through the National Visa Center (NVC) and the U.S. embassy before the visa is issued, so the total timeline is usually longer than just the USCIS processing period.
Based on my personal experience, my K-1 fiancé visa process moved fairly quickly, although I know processing times are very different today. * I-129F petition sent: April 7, 2016 * USCIS receipt (NOA1): April 20, 2016 * Received an RFE: July 12, 2016 * Responded to the RFE: July 21, 2016 * Petition approved (NOA2): July 26, 2016 From the day I received my receipt notice (NOA1) to approval (NOA2), it took 97 days, even with an RFE. After USCIS approved my petition, my case was sent to the NVC and then to the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi. My interview was on November 28, 2016, where I was approved. Because I had to complete a sputum test during my medical exam, my visa was delayed for a short time and remained in administrative processing until December 2. My visa was issued shortly afterward, I received it on December 5, and entered the United States on December 8, 2016. Overall, my entire K-1 visa process—from USCIS receiving my petition to entering the U.S.—took 232 days. While my timeline was relatively smooth, every case is unique, and current processing times are generally much longer than they were in 2016.
